The graphics are so gorgeous that i'd like to take a screenshot every 2 seconds
no time though .. i've got to get on playing
the tanks battle is awseome! & the battlefield is massive! .. the mountains in the background form a fantastic view with all the rocks falling on the ground.
everything in this game looks amazing , the day/night cycle esp dawn & sunset , the explosions , the indoors .. even the grass thanks to the built-in blur looks great!
i'm talking about DX9 .. i didnt touch the DX10 yet. i'll keep it for later.

You sure seem happy.. settings?

I'm still cleaning my harddisk, preparing to defrag, reading the tweakguide on tweakguides.com, trying to establish a basis for making my own tweak set..

The sun rays and battle dust add an immense level of real-ness to the fight.. epseically the battle dust and generic haze in the air when things hare happening. You'll go from a crystal clear forest with nothing but leaves falling into a massive fire fight and after the last korean falls dead, the sunlight's rays penetrating down through the canopy being lit up with the dust and debris left in the air is jaw dropping.

Did you try manually turning them on with a config tweak to see if it runs ok with them on?

I didnt tweak or mess with anything. i just wanted to get right into the game & enjoy it.
the thing is i'm a framerate sensitive & so far i can only guarantee myself satisfying experiance at the above settings. anything i add more & framerate slowdowns will chime in & bother me.
so far i'm so happy with my experiance with the game. i'll leave the tweaking/DX10 later when i get next-gen GPU , better CPU & more RAM.

oh yeah i get some stuttering when entering or after loading new areas .. its not that bad , but this makes me seriously consider going for more RAM. not now though as i'm not ready yet.

Yeah I'm playing in 64Bit DX9 mode at 1680x1050 No AA All high with a few tweaks to add a few DX10 features that have little impact on FPS.

Now wait a minute you are both saying that yours is very similar to the simple config Sowk that just adds the pretty water, sunshafts, a bit of texturing and some colorgrading with very few commands in the other thread, but now you're also saying that yours should also be similar to the one in that link which is a complete copy-paste (so much that is possible) of very high DX10 to DX9?

Great game but the ending sucked balls. I had to turn everything down to Medium just to play the last level!!! I give Crysis a 9/10. Between this and CoD4, I'd have to say that my choice goes to CoD4. Never thought I would say that.

heh, I didn't even know the game was ending until it was over, I was like eh...

It was a good fight in Delta, pretty damn hard, well, more annoying

That copy and paste is all the same identical values and data that the individual cvar config files use... it's just all pasted as one huge list the game sees that overrides any data in the small individual cvar config files.

The game.cfg file is like the final authority on what the engine should do.

I do have to agree with the ending, it was like playing halo 2 all over again

Although it had the junky ending like Halo 2 it was a really fun game all together. The environments were just instance and big, allot of replay value with it. The graphics were great but slow at some points during the game. In all a 9/10

So any news on Crysis 2 "The Lost World"
