I quite liked the alien part, because they managed to show off some pretty sweet effects with the aliens, power suits and weapons.

Spoiler Alert: Being in the ship and floating around with the low poly aliens was just pissing me off, reminded me of some early 90's gaming. The game went from cool to lame pretty fast. I almost gave up on Crysis during all that. It was difficult to figure out where to go, it just wasnt a fun part of the game at all for me. Luckily once you got back outside the action picked up. I almost gave up though it got so lame. |

It's called variety. I missed the Trigens dearly but thank goodness they put in aliens and the Core. Very different and interesting.

well i givet ia 8 out of 10 for being too demanding and some features we saw prior to demo and release isnīt there you canīt for example trhow a guy trough a wall wich you canīt in real life either but Crysis is a game.
ANd 2-3years old hardware canīt run Crysis as promised so i wonder what happened to crysis form start to launch? so between 6-8/10 is more accurate it is not 10/10 IMO

About 1 1/2 into the game, fair play its amazing, really enjoying the different ways i can approach the enemies, runs pretty well on very high fix dx9. Cant wait to see this play on next gen graphics cards.
Havent even touched the multiplayer and sandbox yet! I enjoyed COD4 but this is about 2x better! Thanks CRYTEK! Only things i wish they would fix are the blood decals on the characters, it can be done, some guys on a crysis forum were enabling it, and they fact that i can demolish a building while holding a wheelbarrow and running in to it!

Shaders - Very High
![]() Shaders - Medium ![]() How can I keep the colorful vibrance of the Medium Shader setting but still keep the very detailed POM of the Very High Shader setting? I've tried different settings of these Shader commands but can't figure it out: q_ShaderPostProcess q_Renderer q_ShaderGeneral q_ShaderFX q_ShaderSky q_ShaderTerrain q_ShaderVegetation q_ShaderWater q_ShaderMetal q_ShaderGlass q_ShaderIce q_ShadowHDR q_ShaderShadow

Try to add this line into your system.cfg or autoexec.cfg:
r_UsePom=1 It enables the POM textures but if the medium shaders change the rendering path it's possible that POM (Parallax Occlusion Mapping) doesn't work with medium shaders. In that case you'd need to use high shaders and modify the HDR and SSAO values somewhat. Another alternative would be to mess with the brightness/contrast/gamma sliders and/or the digital vibrance setting in the driver.

Thanks. It looks like these 2 commands with these settings are what made everything nice n' blue
![]() r_ColorGrading=0 q_ShaderPostProcess=1 The only this is q_ShaderPostProcess needs to be set to 2 if you want SunShafts. That taints things yellow just a tad but not totally blah yellow like with everything on Very High.

Here's a comparison pic:
Shaders - Very High ![]() Shaders - Very High w/ r_ColorGrading=0 q_ShaderPostProcess=1 in Autoexec.cfg ![]() I think the choice is clear ![]()

I dont know, but i actually think the more dull toned colors of the trees look kinda cool. Or maybe its just the awesomeness of edge AA.
