Just a heads up in case anyone else experiences this, I got the same problem on installing as outlined in this thread:
http://utforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=585672 I've never had a game crap out on an install like this before. In the end I deleted all registry keys, moved the entire DVD contents to a folder on my hard-drive, and installed from there. Fortunately that worked. Anyway, couldn't get the multiplayer running yet so just tried some single-player stuff. It plays super fast but it feels VERY like UT2004 with a facelift. No disrespect to the folks at Epic, but seriously, isn't it about time they wrote some new music for the UT series? Also, I think it'll be more fun when there's more maps released. Apart from that, graphics are impressive, and it "feels" very right. I hope there's some more graphics options to tweak soon and patches to improve the menus/multiplayer browser. These are just my immediate thoughts that will probably change with more play! |

Just picked up my collectors edition. Installed without any issues (took a while... long while). Did some CTF and campaign online, the texture work is impressive. Seems higher res than the Demo, but it was different maps so its hard to say. Overall it looks amazing considering how well it runs (60 fps capped most of the time).
Listening to the video tutorials now while messing with the new UnrealEd. Edit: Quote:
The multiplayer menu and scoreboard needs serious work. There is no display for kills, deaths, or even latency. Right now, it does feel a lot like a console port in those regards. =/ |

I've noticed this annoying issue: ingame it will lock up for 10-12 seconds (on any map) and will then unfreeze like nothing happen (it's not unstable oc since nothing crashes and I can alt tab without any graphics error). Anyone else have this? A thread about it here:

I really like it so far and I'm really enjoying the Gateway map. It seems to be running well on my setup (x2 4800+ / 8800GTX).
