X crash after install? Quadro 130m
Im stumped. Ive never had a big problem installing the nvidia drivers... simply CTRL+ALT+F1 .. kill gnome.. sh ./*.run .. follow the instructions..reboot..and blammo! nvidia screen! everything works great.
On my bosses new laptop, he's running Ubuntu 7.10, and he has an NVidia Quadro NVS 130m ..
even with the newest driver downloaded from the website, the install succeeds, but after reboot, X server crashes, and asks to use a different driver..
can anyone help!?

Either don't install nvidia drivers by hand in ubuntu or make sure that the module and glx provided by ubuntu are removed, as they conflict otherwhise. This is a well known bug, please use the forum search.
