Default nvidia drivers won't work with apic compiled

When I have apic support in kernel then the nvidia drivers will freeze my pc in xfree86 after a few seconds.

my mobo msi k7n420-pro has apic enabled in the bios
and apic is enabled in win2k (no freezing problems there)

so is it that the linux kernel is incompatible with apic on nforce mobo's or nvidia drivers have problems with apic?

can nvidia plz help de linux kernel developers solve there apic incompatiblility on nforce mobo's or adjust there drivers.

kernel 2.4.20 (vanilla)

Does disabling APIC improve system stability?
