Too much for me. That's the only time I can remember them taking down a video review.

I'm still iffy on trusting their reviews, but at least they responded. Though the answer is still vague, I work in the corporate world as a manager and I know these hurdles too damned well.

the backbone of a review site is their reputation, so they will do anything to not admit they gave in to any type of pressure. this shouldn't be a shocker really.

Well one thing is, we'll never know.
Of course, it's mandatory that they release the statement. There could be other reasons for the firing, such a sexual harrasment, or just repeated mistakes we never would know, that eventually led up to this, with the review and Eidos coming at a bad time. However, given all the "anonymous" tipsters and reports from sources in Gamespot, and I've read a few of them (I'll try to find the links again later), they were pretty revealing into the whole sales/editorial aspects of how Gamespot is run. So who knows. As it stands, I used Gamespot's reviews once in a while ins omething I'm interested in, but after this, I think I can save myself some time and just knock them out altogether. Just like everyone else, I value the feedback of our members more than any other reviewer's anyway. ![]()

His video review of the title was a little weird... he kept going on and on about the cussing and violence being naughty, which, when compared to a Michael Mann or Tarantino films, which is what the game emulates, it was was not.
Other than that, I was fine with it. Still, we will never know enough details on this to make some kind of crusade out of it, unless Gerstman risks being sued to speak out. |
