Everything is scheduled to come in tomorrow and I am stoked! I do have a couple of questions to ask about my music though:

1. If I have everything on iTunes (music), what would be the best way to integrate that into MCE? I didn't know the AAC (or whatever it is) conversion would block my music files from being read into MCE.

2. After solving the first question, what would be the best way to share the music with password protection? iTunes has music sharing features built in (which I already use) but I guess this question depends on the first one.

I will have more update tomorrow! Thanks for answering my questions guys!

Oops, let me clarify what I was saying. 98% of my music is from CD rips so it's no problem with protections.

Right now they are backed up on iTunes via MP4. I can convert them to MP3 within iTunes, that's not hard to do.

Ok, I just got my parts in and I'm trying to install Vista HP right now. And it's my luck that I already have a problem. I'm starting to think that my PSU isn't going to cut it. For some strange reason, I turn on my HTPC and the CPU fan will start to go and quit. It will do this a few times and then go at normal speed. Then, Vista installation is REALLY slow. It's taken me 5 minutes to get to the product key screen! I even took out my 8600GT and replaced it with my old 7600GT but it doesn't go faster or anything.

Does anyone know what's going on? I just know for a fact that Vista installation isn't this slow.

EDIT - NVM. I got Vista installed and everything seems to run just fine. Will post pics later!

The speed of your vista installation seems like the experience I went through...

Alright guys. The Vista installation went fine, everything is updated and I transferred a few music files. Before I tell you my problems, let me show you the thread I've been following:

http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1252288

I've done everything this guy has done, but here is what I can't get to work.

1. I used DVDShrink to do a full backup of my 300 DVD, backing up into VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders. So the file location is "D:/300/VIDEO_TS". Even after installing the Codec pack (32-bit) and putting the 300 XML file (DVD info) in multiple places, Vista MCE still won't pick it up. And yes, I've went through the library setup and it's looking at the entire D drive.

2. I transferred my music to my HTPC, most of the music are MP4's due to iTunes. Some of the music is in MP3 format but Vista MCE STILL won't pick it up! What's going on with that?

Can anybody help me? I've killed the thread above and nobody is answering me lol.

a) Can you watch the burned dvd on that computer using other software?
b) Did you put the xml file in the root directory of that movie?
c) Did you wait till windows media center was done searching for all your media?

What other software can I try this out with?

Yeah, I put it in every folder possible.

Yeah, it actually doesn't find anything. It searches and takes me back out to settings. I know what it looks like when it finds stuff and adds it to the media center.
