Okay, I've installed it into the "Data" directory as directed- but it doesn't seem to have made an effect on my game. How do I get this mod to work?
TIA. ![]() |

Don't you need to install the QBMM program to update that archive- something .txt file with the paths of the new textures? It was that old problem where people had like "pink" placeholders on surfaces when OBMM wasn't used after applying QTP3.

There should be instructions on the readme file but having Oblivion Mod Manager is basically required to make this and other mods work correctly.

Most of Qarl's textures are great, but there are a bunch that are just horrible.
Like the road texture that is all over the world. I installed QTP3 and almost cried when I saw how bad that texture made the game look. I spent a month redoing all of the game's textures to get rid of horrid tiling and repeating patterns, and the guy who has spent nearly 2 years making new textures from scratch still hasn't grasped the concept that you should never use large high-contrast splotches on repeating textures because they create repeating patterns and lines that ruin the look of the game. Its one of the reasons I haven't played the game much. People do some great things with their add ons and I don't want to play the game without them, but they also completely FUBAR other things with the same mods.

Um... so how do I get the mod to work- or are you implying that I should not bother with it CaptN? If that is your advice I'll take you up on it. I've just heard how great the mods can make Oblivion look I figured I'd try 'em myself.

Obviously most people arent though since the original game and now the super high res textures have the same horrid tiling effects in some areas. The road textures from older versions of QTP were far better. Its probably an easy fix, but after spending a month and a half (8-10 hours a day every day) working on this game I pretty much got completely burned out on "fixing" everything.

I'm also sure that Qarl will update QTP3 in the future if enough people care about the tiling. |
