I'd kind of like to get this samsung (226cw, I think) that newegg doesn't have and the higher-end gateway hd model. I've realized what a ****ty monitor my 20wmgx2 is.

I would really like to get a widescreen display for my desktop since I looks really nice. I have a question for the experts, is it possible or easy to disable the widescreen display and have it display like a normal CRT with black bars on the side of the screen? Here is a picture of what im talking about.
![]() If I could do that then I shouldnt have a problem with any of my older games.

If you can't justify the cash for a 24" monitor buy this 22" below. I know its a cheap brand but internally it is almost identical to a Samsung 226bw and I personally cannot tell ANY difference. I have both side by side on my current rig and use the Chimei as my primary over the Samsung.
Your video card plays a big part in this also, with the AGP 7800GS in your sig I would be more inclined to suggest the 22" since its going to have a harder time pushing a 1920x1200 res than a 1680x1050. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824252008
