Does the AI still rubber band in this game? I refuse to buy a racing game with rubber banding AI.

It looks really nice and as jakUp said the crash modelling is pretty impressive but I can't see myself enjoying this open-ended nature for more than half an hour.

The races can be quite consfusing because although I never got lost during them, the entire time I was racing all I could think was 'where do I need to turn?' rather than thinking about racing.

The stunt race thing I just didn't get. It wanted me to rack up 50,000 points in 2 mins and I got 3,000. Not good. Its not like I haven't played Burnout before, I played Revenge and the one before that quite a bit and I think I preferred them too.

That's exactly what I was afraid of. "Freedom" doesn't belong in a racing game, especially Burnout. Racing is about beating the competition to the finish lin, not getting lost in some city because you missed a turn.

Almost all racing games have catchup for the AI players. It's not that big of a deal in Burnout Takedown and forward, just smash into them and they're not in your way anymore.

After playing somemore, I kinda agree.

It is a little too open for me, I loved burnout because it was fun to jump in a race and smash into things.

This one is quite a bit different, still seems like a fun game, but I am not sure if I like the direction it went.

The graphics and physics are very impressive however

Burnout always made sense because in a way it was on rails. You could have fun within a certain area, and my GOD it was fun. Since Burnout 3 they've really been dismantling the gameplay, bit by bit.

I agree with the consensus... who the hell thought an open world was good for a Burnout game?

That said... it's a great open world racer... it's just not Burnout.
