16xqaa with supersampling transparency aa on 2 8800 gtx in sli. all high settings with texture streaming off

editor shot with tetxure streaming on or else the high res screenshot crashes the editor. all settings high

quality isnt comparable, the editor shot image quality is way higher. again multisampling can not match supersampling.

I found that to be consistent among some of the later levels with wide open areas as well.

In that exact same area, at the settings you give on the DX9 path using your config file, I get ~23-25fps and get serious camera/mouse lag when walking down the hill overlooking the water.

This is even with shadows set to medium. Your rig is the only one I've seen capable of pushing 35fps there--it must just be uber.

In all honesty, it wouldn't matter if it played that area at 60fps at this point in the game for me.

I just ran that same spot using the settings I am referring to and get 34-35fps panning the camera all the way around. I really don't understand what could be going on? oh well, im just happy it runs well for me and its smooth as silk even when I walk down the hill looking over the water.

1680X1050 using DX9 path under Vista. No AA or AF.

Textures-Very high
Object Detail-High
Physics-High
Shaders-High
Shadows-Med
Particle Effects-High
Sound-Very High
Water-Very High
Volumetric-High
Post Processing-Med
Game Effects-High.

This was as low as I could actually get it to drop in the open area, no matter what I did or look at it didnt dip under 33fps at anytime.

This is perfectly fine for me as this area hits the FPS about as hard as any area or part of the game I have come across, the majority of the time my FPS are a bit higher than this. Only fire fights and wide open areas drag me to the low 30's.

For the most part im in the high-mid to low 40's when just walking around and with lows around 32fps in firefights and open areas. This is perfectly playable by my standards so im quite happy with it.

Because i watched my friend playing approx a whole level without a single obvious framerate drop.

its up to you guys if you just want to compare gfx to gfx or take performance into account. i do because Uncharted run smoothly with the said graphics while Crysis dosent run smoothly assuming you are running @DX10 (all very high) @ a res of 1280x720,noAA,4xAF or above. i did try that myself so no need to someone to teach me what is smooth framerate & what is not.
OTOH yes Crysis runs smooth @16xxX1xxx,noAA,16xAF DX9 all High. Crysis still looks superb at high.

Crysis looks superb at high , but Uncharted aswell looks superb (in its own art direction) which can be comparable/same class/same league to Crysis @ DX9 & even DX10.
Thats all IMO of course.

POST EDITED.
