Default Fan speed with FX1400 on Fedora 8

Hi,
When a program use/call openGL my video card's fan make a lot of noise even if the program don't need a big load.
It does the same under windows XP or fedora 8.

I'm working with a lot of OpenGL application, so it is a problem for me. (And I would like to use compiz for the fun but it's too noisy).

Can I do something because it very noisy during several minutes ?
