.. and I confirm that there's still white stripes/crosshatchin in ut2004 for 171.06 and 169.12
Have I got news for you!

AFAIK it is possible to build the 100.xx series with the 2.6.24 kernels with the following commands:
Code:
# export SYSSRC=/usr/src/kernels/2.6.24.3-50.fc8-i686
# sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-100.14.23-pkg1.run --x-prefix=/usr --x-module-path=/usr/lib/xorg/modules
Don't forget to update the first line to your latest kernel and in the second line to use the right drivernumber.

Oh, and by the way: to all nvidia-linux-driver-developers: I see the UT2004 graphics corruption with my system also (Geforce 6800)...

I can confirm that 173.08 beta fixes the UT2004 white stripes problem - from the release notes:
* Fixed OpenGL rendering corruption with textures compressed
using the DXT5 compression algorithm.
Let's hope the fix sticks.

Although the graphics corruption issues are fixed in the latest beta, I did run into another problem which is possibly related to it.

I recently setup twinview, and with the latest drivers I tested ut2004 to check if the bug was fixed. Ut2004 started up displaying across both my monitors and had similar graphics corruptions. However when I added a modeline so that Ut2004 would only fullscreen on one monitor, the game worked fine with no corruptions.

Not exactly much of an issue since I can't come up with any good reason to play with the game across both monitors, but thought I'd mention it . I'm using a 7600GT, latest beta drivers, 2.6.24 kernel, stable gentoo.

The stripes corruption is also fixed for me in UT2004 but the game shuttering is worse. They seemed to have fix the shuttering on the win side of things with the latest beta driver. Wish I could play it in Linux.
