When I try to install the Nvidia driver 96.43.01 I get the error that the Kernel cannot be created, my gcc version may be different from what was used during install. I'm very confused. The install log file is attached.

Judging from the log file, the kernel development files you attempted to build the driver against do not match the running kernel.
