Had the Tandy 1000TX i think - remember upgrading it with the slotted 386 option board. Did play a few things on the 8088 but the 286/386 was when the real games started coming out

Scary to think back to all those cards purchased after first converting quake over to the 3d version with my first voodoo and shelfing duke 3d. That was definitely a moment.

Ahhh good times...

Mine was an HP Pavilion with a Pentium Celeron (I think) at 233mhz or 333mhz. I maxed out the memory at 256MB of PC100 and added a Voodoo3 3000. First game? Rainbow Six. I also played Quake (can't remember which version) and Unreal Tournament. This was in the summer of 1999. Oh, and it had a 15 inch CRT with detachable speakers.

I had the ultimate gaming machine. It was a 486DX2/66 with a whole 4mb ram. I was the envy of all my mates. I could play Doom and Doom2, but sometimes it was like a slide show.
Ah those where the days

Besides my first computer I played Doom 2 on (Windows 3.1) and can't remember the specs back in 1991 or so... it was a 90Mhz..

Was a Compaq Presario. Intel Pent. 2 300 Mhz. 64 mb ram. 4gb ati rage II 3d. dual speed cdrom. I remember gaming quake 2 and being amazed with the graphics on that video card.

ASUS A7V333
GeForce4 MX440 64MB DDR
256MB DDR266
80GB HD
WindowsXP Pro (pre-SP1)

Gamed okay... but was a massive leap from the system I had prior.

First gaming PC, about 1993:

Dell 486 DX2 50
4MB RAM
Some old Ati gfx card
Sound Blaster 16 ASP
2x speed CD-ROM added later
Windows 3.1

It was top of the line at that moment. I remember an additional 4MB of RAM costing 250$ from Dell... Crazy.

Aaah the nostalgia... Ultima Underwold 1 & 2, Ultima 7, Alone in the Dark, Indiana Jones, Day of the Tentacle, X-Wing, Doom, Sim City 2, Syndicate, Theme Park, Magic Carpet... great games

For Windows 95, I got this in 1997:

Pentium 200mhz MMX
32MB Ram
Matrox Mystique 2D/3D
Voodoo 1
Sound Blaster 32 AWE

The mother got me a Celeron 400 with 32MB ram, and an 8MB Intel i810. Around the same time my dad bought a PC and I insisted he did it slightly differently. He plumped for a P2 350, 64MB ram and a 16MB tnt2. Was a far nicer system.

Then about 18 months later I had my own money so I bought an Athlon 1.2ghz thunderbird, 256MB ram and a geforce 2 GTS. That was a damn nice machine for its time. It owned in 3Dmark01!
