I used to get marked down in English class because whenever we'd read a class book I'd always pronounce the names of the characters wrong. Glad to hear I got some idiot on the internet's name right though

Here is a better response:
What problem would making such a device solve? Why would anyone want one? Isn't it simpler to buy a tv that will re-scale a image rather than creating a 3rd party device?

Thanks for answering my retarded question. It was a pretty damn retarded idea. I just thought it would be good for people who have tvs that don't scale. Also, if sony created and made it, then it wouldn't be a third party device but rather a first party one.

The next thing to think about is: Don't you think that upscaling/downscaling to and from any supported ps3 resolution should be built into the ps3, instead of requiring another device to do so?

My feeling is that Sony isn't particularly interested in updating their scaler to do this as the like the idea of forcing people to buy new Sony tv's.
