Default Xbox/Upgrading GPU question.

Curious,

I have an Xbox laying around that I've used maybe 3 times, I'm just not really a console gamer, anyways, wondering since new graphics cards are coming out soon/are out, and some people are upgrading, if anyone would be willing to swap the Xbox for a graphics card... and what type...

How about I give you my MX400 for it? Sounds like a fair trade to me...

Sorry but i dont think that xbox for mx400 is a fair deal. That's Geforce 2 which costs 50 bucks.

Why does everyone bash the X-Box and it's graphic's chip?

Yeah, it's a "Geforce3 Architecture" chip, but it does one thing that PC graphics chips don't do (and one thing consoles do much better then PC video cards), and that is PUSH POLYGONS.

Hell, Dreamcast games push more polygons then most PC games do.

And why is that, kiddies? Because PC developers still want their games to run on 700mhz, TNT2 systems..

While Texture quality and lighting/shadows can be turned down/off, polygon count in models/scenery can't be.

So while consoles games Polygon counts are now approaching 10+ million WITH FULL EFFECTS ON, PC games are still below 1 million.

how about selling it for cash on ebay? none of these cards offered are close to the $199 selling point of the xbox. with $199 you could get atleast a ti4400.

I have a few hundred $$$ left over from my computer building funds that I don't really need, but then on the other hand, I am not too big on consoles either, the last one I ever bought was a Super Nintendo.
