6600 GT consistently hangs in 3d mode
BFG running on a ViewSonic VX922 with SLED 10.1 an older Athlon 64, no problems until I run anything with hardware acceleration, then I have about 2-3 minutes before mouse and keyboard completely freeze. Kernel is 2.6.16.53-0.16-default, driver is NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-7185-pkg2.run. Any ideas??

A couple. Firstly, freezes while hardware is under heavy load is usually a symptom of overheating. Leave the side off the case, if it gets any better, add a couple more fans. Secondly, stop using such a rubbish OS, you liberal homo communist pigdog.
