I have have been working with two versions of the Solaris Express Developers Edition (Nevada b70b and b78) installation DVD's. I have been using a video card with the nVidia Riva TNT2 64 chipset. The nVidia Riva TNT2 32 is on the HCL. (See: http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/data...tails/284.html) I think the difference between the 64 and 32 is the memory. I am able to install the b70b version without any problems. I am able to select 3 different screen resolutions. I cannot install the b78 version. I have been told.. "This is a very old, unsupported card, and the fact that it works is a fluke." If this is an unsupported card, why is it on the HCL and why does it work with the b70b version? Is it possble to use nVidia's Solaris driver on the b78 version? (I would need help with this if it is possible.)

I'm not familiar enough with the different Solaris builds and their respective installation routines to comment on the difference between B70 and B78. The TNT2 is not supported by the proprietary NVIDIA Solaris graphics drivers, but it is supported by the Xorg nv driver.
