I don't see why it would be a huge deal if they integrated an HDDVD drive. Everyone knows its going to happen. And it's not like it will render older 360's obsolete. Games will still be on DVD's, you can just play HDDVD movies without the attachment is all.

Having the HD-DVD drive integrated would be a nice boost for HD-DVD

Now if we can just get Toyota to put the 3.5L V6 in the 08 Solara, which currently has the crappy 3.3L V6, everything will be just dandy!

If it will be made by Toshiba at least it won't break too soon
![]() Integrated HDDVD ? Nice, as long as games are still on DVD. BTW. the separate HDDVD player is a nice addon for PC users too. I can watch my HDDVDs on PC and television without the annoying sound of the Xbox fans. Also, do you know that while the drive is technically a PC drive, its firmware makes it behave like a standalone player? That makes it really invaluable to certain people. Sometimes I think Microsoft does certain things on purpose!

I don't see why anyone is getting upset about this OR calling it "pc-like".
It's more car, or TV, or amp or heck..electronics-like than anything else. I think it's an awesome idea. Your old 360 will play the same games the same way it used to even when this comes out. As to the shoving HD DVD down the throat...they aren't forcing anything down anyone's throat. Don't want it? Don't buy it! Just like with anything else, early adopters always get less in the long run in the case of most electronics however they get the benefit of that item alot longer than the late adopter. Fair trade I'd say. --------------------- One thing I don't get..they tout the 1080p HDMI thing like it's a new feature. My 360 Pro does 1080p via HDMI now...so does the Arcade. ![]()
