LOL at people who think BF2 is the best online FPS to date. It's still a buggy unbalanced mess after two and half years. There're many issues that are not fixed and will never be fixed because support is dead.

PRMM is a rather nice mod for BF2.

Personally I just love the different weapons and vehicles in the game, especially the jets.

I play it once in a while, however when I do play it I usually go on a binge.

BF2 was based on the DC mod (which i loved btw), infact some of those very modders were consulted & had input on the development of BF2, hence the lol.

The problem with Frontlines is that it has fictional weapons , BF2 has realstic ones .. i.e. AK's ,M16A2's , M1A2 tanks , Cobra choppers etc .. & i prefer real authentic weapons & vehicles. heck BF2 even takes a good care of the weapon sounds & effects.

I tried playing the Frontlines beta but it would always get stuck when entering an MP game. So i've given up on it. But I love the concept of 'borders' being changed when pushing on the frontline. Would be great if they could integrate something like that in BF3.

Yeah, I know. Trauma was bought by DICE to work on BF2 and resold afterwards. A lot of stuff in the game were their ideas, like the commander/squad system. They had a lot stuff but DICE didn't use them.

Have you tried the open beta came out last month? That issue has been fixed.

Frontlines weapons and vehicles are fictional but they're inspired from real war ones. Unmodded plain vanilla BF2 weapons look real, but they're awefully inaccurate, and sound like pea shooters. Mods like Project Reality and Point of Existence 2 are much better. I specifically like the chopper controls in PoE2. Not as hard as DC's but sure takes a lot of practice to be good, unlike plain vanilla BF2 where anyone can fly a chopper in just 10 minutes.
