That's just an example. It's not like they are only adding those features to movie you're not into.

or maybe they are... ::

Maybe trying to induce a oldsk00l style explosion?

I'm still supporting HD DVD until the very bitter end and I won't buy a Blu-ray title (should it actually end up winning) until Toshiba releases a Blu-ray/HD DVD combo player that is fully HD DVD compliant, Blu-ray profile 2.0 compliant and decodes every HD audio format internally.

If Paramount opts out of the contract then HD-DVD is done for. Universal will have no choice but to drop HD-DVD as a high definition format. It's sad how we ended up getting Blu-ray rammed down our throats.

It is sad, HOWEVER, I'm glad to see this "format war" start wrapping up. I'm sure there are still a few out there that won't upgrade to HDM until there is just one format to upgrade to.

i just dont understand how BD can "win" with an inferior format. the only benefit is the capacity, and that doesnt mean much with the introduction of triple layer HD-DVD's.

im still sticking with my original stance, though. 8 million HD-DVD/BD sales compared to 800 million DVD sales proves that there is still time.

Well wasn't it the same with VHS and Betamax? Betamax was a better format but VHS won due to marketing etc.
