Got the MXR and love it but have to agree with j0j081, it's not really a gaming mouse.

If you are a hard core gamer, then no. If you are a casual to moderate gamer it is great. I have the bottom left side button set to control my volume and the top button under the wheel set to close apps. My wheel is set for double click, which I think turns off the gear switching, since I don't experience that. Scrolling is always free wheeling. It is the best all around mouse I have used to date.

Thanks all for the great info. The G9 looks a little funky and having a cord I think will bug the hell out of me. My G7 kicked butt gaming untill the freezes.

The G9 cord is pretty flexible, though I found it annoying with it scratched in my hard surfaced mouse pad. ::
