I was playing the Wii on a 40" sony Bravia LCD tv, and we actually compared the regular AV cables with the component cables, and there is a HUGE difference. The detail is so much more vivid on the the component cables. I'm pretty sure it isn't just the resolution either. The signal you get from the component cables is so much more pure that it just makes everything look much better. It's very much worth it to get the Wii hi-def cables if you have an HDTV. ![]()

Monoprice is where its at. First class place with high quality cables for a fraction of the price you'd find at a place like Best Buy or Circuit City. Its the newegg of cables, without the release day gouging. Don't waste your money on overpriced monster stuff at BB. If you don't believe me check out the AVS forum, hundreds of home theater experts there swear by monoprice.

You guys are lost. Monster Cable is a great deal. You should spend at least $1,000 on a MOnster S-video cable as it converts everything to BEYOND HD like Blu-ray.

480P isn't really considered HD. I've heard everything above 480P is high def. PAL TVs are all 576i/576p. So that means watching DVDs at 576p on my old TV WAS HD, and PAL Wiis can do 576p over compentent. So that's also HD. :

Wrong Crainger; HD is considered to be 720p, 1080i and 1080p. The Wii would stutter and die if it had to output at these resolutions; hell, it would just seize like an epileptic. My niece and nephew have a Wii and it hurts the eyes. HD it is not. It is progressive scan 480p which is last gen. In fact, it does not even support digital video. If your a Nintendo fan, enjoy away. If you like visuals, stick with the XBox 360, PS3 or high end pc.

My $10 cables work great... things are somewhat blocky, but much more crisp.
