Thumbs down Re: Patch 1.1 is released!

Guys, I tried 1.1 on WinXP x64 SP2 (latest drivers and updates, dx9c from nov 2007) and im getting really poor performance. Like 10 fps slower than WinXP x86 SP2 on both 32 and 64 bits modes. Wasn't the patch supposed to have boosted 64 bits performance?

I'm running all low on xp with the new patch and it has increased my performance for me surprisingly. I'm satisfied except for the fact that the rocket launcher speed and radius ought to be greatly decreased in Instant Action only. We need fast rockets in Power Struggle for VTOL whores as already stated.

Wrong. If you want to change your opinion you must file a request with Mr Bigman.

I installed the CRYSIS 1.1 Patch yesterday and it didn't seem to do much to me, if anything it seems as slow as before. I'm running XP 32bit and I think I'm going to reinstall the game and not patch it, any comments?

I tried playing Crysis once upon release, and was pretty meh with the gameply after the 1/2 way through the game, and was sorely disappointed with the performance on my rig. I play at 1600x1200 with 2x AA normally, and the game was so jerky it was too painful to play for long. I believed I was getting 15-25 fpgs with a mix of High/Very High.

Now with this patch, the game is pretty smooth with littler jerkiness. While I don't have the exact numbers in fps, I can stand looking at the game, so it must be easily above 40 with the same settings pre-patch. So the patch does wonders for me and I'm now back to playing the game again.

I still think the game is badly optimized, but that's just me. Perhaps with then next patch they will increase the performance further and enable me to hit 60 fps.

You should be getting better FPS with two Ultras. It was totally playable with SLI'd GT's for me once I installed the 169.25 drivers. 25-60FPS with everything on Very High exept for High Post Processing and no AA.

All the patch did for me was make the cut scenes alot smoother. Very little DX10 improvement. Saying that, DX9 was a bit better. I could go to Very High PP in DX9.

What res are you running though?

I found a great patch for Crysis. It's called a 720p monitor. ::

Much smoother than 1050pee. ::

1600x1200.

Perhaps it was the FW when Crysis was first released, and the first build of Crysis, that made the game moved like a slideshow. I tried Very High with thoise resolution and it rendered the game nearly unplayable. I had to tone it down to 1078x**** just to get 25-30 fps sometimes, though it became a slideshow with many things going on in the screen.

Now, with the latest FW and the new patch, I bumped up the graphic details to High/Very High @ 1600-1200 resolution and while it isn't exactly smooth as butter, it's getting there. I'm now quite happy.
