Is there any way to fix a badly scratched screen like this?

I'm not sure if you can fix it, but I would take the money you would put forth fixing it and get a good LCD.

I think he real question is why would you want to fix it? It can be done with a liquid filler or auto glass repair ****.

I have a few scartches on mine too but I don't think there is anything you can do about it because of the anti-glare coating which I think is pretty unfixable.

I repaired a screen of mine years ago that had a few scratches in the anti-glare
coating. Mine was not nearly as bad as the one in the photo link. I used a mild abrasive, many razor blades and a lot of time to completely remove the anti-glare coating. After I was done the screen appeared brand new though, it was a lot brighter than it used to be. I think the anti-glare dims the output just a bit. The monitor I did this to was a 21" sony trinitron. It was worth the effort and the absence of the anti glare coating never seemed to bother me all that much. |
