Back in November/December a guy named khenaz made a city/urban map over at crymod.com it looks great as well:

So I would say it's definitely flexible if guys who are not a part of a professional devteam can do with just the Sandbox editor but the MechWarrior TC guys might have access to the Beta-SDK.

As for $1500 to play a $50 @ 30 fps, again thats just retarded.
That about says it all. A sad state of affairs for us gamers who are shelling out all this money to play a game at 30 fps without even having all the settings maxed. Somehow over the years the standard keeps getting lowered for us gamers for the cost of what you get ratio (at our expense). It's no coincidence that so many play XBox/PS2/Wii. Who the hell can afford to play PC games anymore (with the investment of PC hardware that seems to be never quite enough)?

I'm late to this party but I average 27~30 fps with ONE ultra simply by optimizing the graphics tweaks and sacrificing AA and a little AF. I would HARDLY think that a little AA and AF is worth the extra $900.

The 3 way ultra argument will be moot anyways when the 9XXX's come out.. then it'll be all about the SLI 9XXX's running the show.

It definitely depends on what kind of game you're playing, but playing an FPS at 30FPS on a PC, using a mouse is horrible. Fast movements makes the framerate so much more noticeable.

Spending over 1000 on a PC to be able to play Crysis at (realistically) 15-25FPS when there's a battle going on, is just pathetic. It may be around 30-40 when there's jack-**** going on, but still, it's no where near as smooth as _most_ console games.

IMO 30FPS on a console game and 30FPS on a PC game are two completely different things. Consoles are capped at 30 to keep the gameplay smooth, PC's are likely at 30 because you have no choice; it's as good as you're gonna get and it's not going to be a pleasant experience.
That is not necessarily true, turn on VSync and with a refresh rate of 60Hz you will have a 30fps cap.
