I can buy a 2 week old iPhone for $300, is it worth it?

Does anyone have one of these? A co-woker of mine is selling his, which is only 2 weeks old, thanks to a defective unit, he received a new one, his gripe is he recently moved into a basement aprtment and he can't get ANY reception (at&t for teh win), so he already bought a tmobile phone and has a new subscription to their service.

Now, I have a grand coming through income taxes - every year, this is my annual computer upgrade money, I was looking at a 8800gtx sold by someone here on the forums for 350 and a 6600 quad for $280 - the other money I had invloved with some psp stuff and a external hd, etc.

Now I'm thinking if the iphone is worth it, Ill make a few adjustments, maybe get a e6750 for $180 instead ...

Just wondering what your expeirence has been with one, to those who own one.

Can yu play youtube clips? Is there any official downloadable software yet? I swore I heard everything to this point is web related...flash stuff, no actual downloads?

I loved my iPhone but I took it back. I got tired of constantly wiping the face off. As a phone it sucks. Get a iPod touch if you want something similar and get a real phone. With the latest updates for the iPod Touch it is exactly like the iPhone minus the data plan you get from att with is ok because it is slow as hell.

Isn't that a t-mobile phone though? Since I'm a huge windows fanboy I was hoping to give something "apple" a chance for a change. =)

So the Itouch is under $300 and can surf the web? That's my main thing, I'd like a nice little doo-hickey where I can surf the web on the train to and from work - but something that uses a satelitte so I dont have to always be in a hotspot.
