I need advice!!!!!

Okay, so after sitting at my computer for many hours searching online I think I found what I want. But, since I'm such a newb, I need you guys to tell me whether or not this is all compatible and what else I need to add to my list.

I'm pretty sure most of it is compatible, but it is always good to be positive.

SO PLEASE, look this over carefully and give me input and help. I will be indebted to you forever.

Alright, here is what I want to get:
-OS - Windows Vista Premium
-Case - Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Case
-Mobo - GIGABYTE GA-X38-DS4 LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard
-CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor OR Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Dual-Core Processor -RAM/mem - G.Skill 4GB DDR2-800MHz CL4 2x2 Gb
-Hard Drive - Seagate ST3400320AS 400GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
-Video Cards - Dual HD 3870 crossfire

I'm probably going to overclock it also.

Oh, and am I covered cooling-wise?

Looks ok. Here are some things I saw. I would stick with XP but if you have the horsepower (and you will) Vista will be fine. Just be advised, it has its flaws still. Wouldn't hurt to get a bigger hard drive and one with a bigger cache. 16MB or even a newer one with 32. Go for the 7200.10 320GB or a 500GB. As far as the videocards, go with two 8800GTX's in SLI or 8800GT's.

Thanks for the reply. I'm limited to a little over $1500.00 USD, can you help me within that price range. Two 8800s seems a little out of my range. I will look into a different hard drive, is there a big price difference?

Also, I was wondering, do I need a CD drive so I can play games or does what I have written down - does any thing on there include a CD drive. (newb question.... )

You can get the 320Gb seagate for around 80 bucks so it's not bad at all. If you can't get SLI then get one 8800GT or GTX. Also, just get a DVD drive. Even the newer SATA ones are cheap. Anywhere from 20 --> 100+ depending on how much you want to pay for one. I have a SATA lite on DVD drive that I got for 30 bucks and it works great.

Sweet setup, nothing i can complain about apart from OS which is preference.

Like nekrosoft said, I would go for a DVD burner. That will be able to do everything, play movies, burn movies, play games, etc. You don't HAVE to but there is no point in not getting one when they are practically the same price as a cd burner, etc. nowadays. here is a nice DVD burner:
