Default artefacts with 169.09 in composite environment

Hi,

I'm posting this new message to let you know that this bug, which already existed in the previous driver (169.07), is still present in the new driver. 169.04 does not have that problem. It would be nice if this could be fixed soon as it makes this driver impossible to use in KDE 4.0 (and also with compiz).

Thank you

I also have minor artifacting, with games (Doom 3 and Q4) randomly going to windowed. I don't know if this bug report captured it as my system was completely unresponsive while this happened. I had to ctrl+alt+backspace to get out of it.

Ok here are screenshots.
The taskbar should be black everywhere :

In this one the artifacts are obvious :

I've similar problem. I'm experiencing it since 169.07. I use e16 with composite. If composite isn't used, then the problem will disappear.

It seems that fonts renders are not correctly updated.

Here's the screenshot:

Have you people tried

Option "UseCompositeWrapper" "true"

in the Screen Section of your xorg.conf,
as recommended by nvidia in other threads?

This solves most of these problems.

Using the compositewrapper option does not change anything.

This seems similar to the bug posted here: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=104822

No fix yet. Not sure if the developers are aware of it...

Hi everyone,
I've just joined the Nvnews forum.I have a similar problem with the game I play on my Linux-side of my hardrive called Vegastrike. The artifacts I'm getting are white hatching lines on some of the planets and one of the screenpanels of the game.I have reported on the Vegastrike forum, and they told me it is more than likley a driver problem. The problem had started to occur with the 169.07 drivers. I waited for new 169.09 driver and installed it,but I'm having exactly the same problem.I have tried the option
Quote:
Option "UseCompositeWrapper" "true"
in my xorg.conf, logged out,and restarted x,but it had no effect.I'm hoping when the new beta driver is out it will be able to sort out my problem.I have attached two files for your viewing.

Regards,

Hmm, you are lucky. The "UseCompositeWrapper" opition did not fix the problem for me...
