Yeah well mine died 40 times, killed my cat and raped my daughter!

I haven't seen that before; does it still make noise? The right noises that is, static doesn't count.

And yeah, if the warranty sticker is gone there's no way they'll replace it.

Is the video constantly changing, or does it change more when you do something. Like if you stick in a game or navigate menus (I know you can't see them) does it look any different, or always exactly the same?

Or if you don't want your broken box any more, I'd love to take it off your hands. Can always use parts. Just remember that RROD has several causes, and not all are GPU solder related. X-clamp works wonders, but only after doing the heat-gun method for me. Thinking about replacing stock heatsink with a zerotherm ceramic VGA cooler. Any of these are worth a shot before trashing. Just remember, instead of the garbage heap, I'll pay to ship it to me instead as long as the unit hasn't been physically altered/defaced/maimed/ or purposefully destroyed.
I already threw it away.

Your motherboard might be overstressed... For example, if you tighten the screws too much GPU **** starts happening.

Mine has subtle lines across the screen after many openings but that's something I can live with.

The error you're having has nothing to do with the RROD. The RROD is because of overheating. What you're having is the GPU is starting up, but it's not working... With the RROD, the GPU doesn't even output any video.

My 360 has just died as well, This is my third dead 360 . This one has lasted just about 12 months. It's so bloody annoying. In the 360 clan I'm in there have been four 360 deaths in less than a month, Not a great average out of 24 members.
It's going to be a real pain if I have to send it back to Microsoft as I'm in the middle of moving home. I think I'll try taking it back to GAME and seeing if they will swap it. They have done the last two times it's died.

I can repair that. If not, I'll even reimburse you for the shipping charge. The garbled screen is an indicator of an impending RROD. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to continue this discussion. RROD is most commonly caused by the solder joints of the GPU and/or memory coming loose. that garbled screen means that some of the BGA connections are still making contact, but some are quite iffy. I can fix it very quickly. Next day return, box guaranteed to work.
