Every time I add or remove a display in nvidia-settings, garbage is displayed on screen, and the system immediately hangs or reboots. It does not appear to generate a crash dump.
I have a GeForce 7400 Go and have reproduced this problem while running Solaris Express snv_78 and snv_81. These are the only error messages from the driver: Feb 1 20:46:47 shamisen nvidia: [ID 702911 kern.notice] NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 2, CCMDs 00000000 0000357c 00000224 00000000 00001000 Feb 1 20:46:47 shamisen nvidia: [ID 702911 kern.notice] NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 1, Channel 00000000 Method 00000060 Data 0100cb07 This is a regression from the 100.x series of drivers, where dynamic TwinView works correctly (although Xinerama hints appear to be broken). |
