Default Would going from:

Would going from an Asus Striker Extreme to an eVGA 780i SLI motherboard be a step up or a step down?

assuming the asus board is a 680i, it would be a step-up. Better cpu support in the long run. Probably better memory support too. All due respect, I'd upgrade that cpu before I'd upgrade the mobo.
