Default GTA: SA payout for "Hot Coffee" lewdness

My poor eyes! I need compensation STAT!

Quote:
Those of you who were horribly offended by the "Hot Coffee" secret sex scenes within Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas are entitled to a cash payout that will basically allow you to buy ... well, a cup of a hot coffee.

The 2005 Windows release of GTA:SA included a mod that allowed players to enter the main character's bedroom and control his actions while he had sex with his various girlfriends. Initially, there was no nudity involved, but crafty programmers soon figured out how to disrobe the women.

The controversy prompted a July 2005 class-action lawsuit from an 85-year-old grandmother who purchased the video game for her 14-year-old grandson. The parties reached a settlement agreement in November 2007 that provides payouts between $5 and $35.

interesting, I thought the bases of the suite was that of the console versions, and how it was unlocked using memory hack based cheat programs.

frankly though im surprised its gone so far. I can name a dozen programs (games, tech demos) that have been hacked to show nakid chicks. Heck, DOA 3/volyball is one of the most popular xbox hacks around.

The whole idea of the lawsuit was ridiculous. PARENTS should be monitoring their children, not lawyers.

Is Nvidia next on the chopping block because someone developed a "Nude Nalu" hack? Maybe I'll be sued for mentioning it. Lurkers here will google it now that I've mentioned it.

Certain things need to be kept from children, but I HATE frivolous lawsuits with a passion.

About the nalu thing? Yeah I've seen that. What's sad is I could see someone trying it. All for $5 to $35.

The grandma would have a fit with the TTDISA mod.

Link: http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=1194

Excerpt: "Because the game is now uncensored, the 'Key To Her Heart' mission now requires you to excite Millie by spanking her with a dildo - this special mini-game is only available during this mission in order to complete it and because you have the dildo it is easier to complete than the normal sex mini-games."

Great mod though. Adds a tremendous amount of storyline RockStar left out of the pc version. It is still in beta but playable.

Here is the ongoing discussion link if interested:

http://www.gtagarage.com/discussion/topic.php?T=915

Links for latest betas:

Beta 4: http://www.deezire.net/downloads/gta/TTDISABETA4.zip

Beta 5: http://www.deezire.net/downloads/gta/TTDISABETA5.zip

Beta 5 has 3 or 4 files to replace in beta 4.

Yes, parents should monitor their children's gaming, and kids shouldn't be playing M rated games but.... but Rockstar tried to pull a fast one and added AO content, accessible through changing a single bit in a single file. Plausible deniability. Or so they thought. And they got burned. Good.

I agree. My comment probably came across like I was defending them, but it was geared towards the lawsuit itself. We live in a "sue them!" kind of world.
