When I move and no longer need my HTPC I'm converting it into a RAID5 web/file server. Hot swapping FTW.

I've not had any die yet (now that I say that though...<crosses fingers>) but I usually replace them due to size advances. However, I tend to get nervous if they are over 3 years old.

I've had my maxtor, but recently, after having a problem transferring it to a new pc (couldn't get it out of the cage) I may have scratched it up a bit... there were some bad sectors before that though. Had the thing since i joined nvnews, so probably 3 years or so, time to RMA the thing
