Since AaronP asked for it, here's my take: Unfortunately I have to second Miroslav II: Also the new version (169.09) crashes X inevitably at change of a resolution. What I wonder: Would there be an earlier version of the driver that supports my NVIDIA GPU GeForce 7050 PV, and is known to not crash? Why do I need to change resolution? For the TV-out. When it is connected, in order to activate it, I need to click 'Apply', and that will kill the X session. ![]() Uwe P.S.: I had to remove several lines of 'loadable objects', because the report was longer than the allowed maximal size. Maybe someone can increase the limit? |

Some programs that I use do it automatically when they go in full screen mode. Bug is repeatable every time. -- Miroslav |

Miroslav, thanks. This is what I wanted to know; therefore I could check and see that my 7050 is supported, download and install (how much easier for Solaris than for Linux!!).
Finally, I can 'detect' and activate/deactivate the TV-out from the NVIDIA-applet without X crashing. Yessir, the bug is reproducible 100% here, on two different machines and two different NVIDIA-chips. [makes me wonder, why NVIDIA seems to not do anything about this, and SUN keeps shipping all nv-s with the corrupt drivers?] Uwe |
