Not just subscribers... anyone who bought Kane's Wrath. I believe there was also an open beta registration on the Command & Conquer site.

Thumbs up Re: Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Revealed!!

Just because I'm nice like that, I decided to cross the treacherous waters from Rage3D over to these parts to deliver some screenshots and videos of juicy Red Alert 3 goodness. Enjoy.

Some Soviet Union beta screenshots!

Here's my first beta video I created. This is just to sort of show how the game plays, etc. Although there isn't any combat, you do get to see:

- Just how smooth the game runs (keep in mind, this is even with FRAPS)
- The beautiful water/water effects
- The engineer in his little inflatable motor boat!
- "Stingray" tesla-coil ships going from sea to land . . in spider-like fashion!
- "Bullfrog" ships loading up with Conscript soldiers, going back into the sea, then launching them out of man-cannons onto land! (Really helpful if in danger and you need to unload any garrisoned units before the Bullfrog explodes!)

Here's a crazy video I created. I call this one the "Conscript Death March." This shows not only how good this game runs even with 100+ units on-screen, but also just how brave the Russian comrades really are.

Here's a replay I just recorded of my last online game. I play as the Empire of the Rising Sun (Japan) and my opponent is playing as the Allies.

As you'll notice, Japan's buildings are not placed down from the Construction Yard, but are rather deployed by 'worker'-like units, meaning that you can place them anywhere you can move the units to.

In this match-up, I choose to go for two refineries immediately after my power plant so that I can get as much cash as possible. I then completely by-pass the Dojo/Barrack and instead go for a War Factory.

Some key moments in this match are:
- Harvester harassment and destruction early on
- Coast line domination & Construction Yard destruction via my submarines
- Quick expansion & control of the entire map

I got lucky in this case because my opponent was pretty new to the game. He didn't even unpack his Construction Yard/MCV when I was pounding it with my submarines, and could have easily moved it onto land and re-deployed without losing a single structure or unit for that matter.

I also think he made a mistake of not expanding, not grabbing the oil derrick near his base, and not counter-attacking with his ground forces. If he would have pushed harder early on with his tanks and infantry, I honestly think he would have had me in a rough spot. Luckily, I kept pushing and once I dominated the seas and surrounded his coast, I left him with nowhere to go and completely boxed in. From that moment onwards, it was just a matter of building up a large enough army to wipe out his base.

I used the auto updater and it worked fine. If you're having trouble with the auto updater, here are some instructions for manual installation:

Thumbs up Faction demonstration videos!

Here are some great videos showing entire matches in the beta. The player in these videos is "JohnWE" from CNC-Files, and he commentates in each video, pointing out lots of information about each faction such as their units, buildings, special abilities, and even which units are best for what.

Also, if you had any questions as to whether this game is just another tank spam fest like in C&C 3, those should be put to rest by these videos. More than once, "JohnWE" attacks with a large force and is stopped because his enemy counters them with the correct units. Watch and see for yourselves. The unit balance in this game is very well done.
