Most needed roles for PvE are always Tank and Healer. DPS and CC are a dime a dozen.

Most needed for PvP are Warrior and Healer/dispeller. CC reigns as king the more you get into larger arenas.

I would highly recommend a Warrior or Paladin for PvP, for PvE I would highly recommend Druids if you aren't dead set on what role you want to play. I have much love for ferals.

Hunters make leveling cake. I'd recommend looking at a feral Druid then if you want a change of pace.

Feral leveling goes like this:
Cat form>attack mob > mob dead > shift out to heal > shift back to cat.
or this if you have a hard hitting mob or more than one:
Bear form>attack mob > mob dead > shift out to heal > shift back to bear.
lol

My new toon is a hunter. The main reason I picked her is because Blood Elves are dead sexy and I already have played a Warrior, Shaman, and Druid up to 70.
The main thing slowing my leveling progression is trying to avoid that damn chicken mount at 40. I've been working Undercity rep up since level 20 and am only 2500 away from Exalted at level 39.

Druids are awesome. I'd probably level one as feral and then go balance and become a mages best friend. The only drawback is you have to be a cow on the Horde side. If you feel most comfortable as a hunter, then by all means make one. If you have The Burning Crusade, then I would recommend leveling in the Blood Elf lands as soon as you do your starting area quests which get you up to level 5-6. The new lands have great quest rewards and they are streamlined up to level 20 so you don't have to leave there until then. The only drawback is there are no warrior trainers there, but there is a druid trainer there.

If you are serious about staying on the server, I can float you a few gold and some bags to start with. Let me know your name and I'll put you on my friends list.

yeah the BE area is really nice for leveling the 1 - 20.

I almost want a chicken mount for my druids because of how dumb it would look

I don't think Tauren are eligible for the chicken mount.

Just imagine riding one in moonkin form lol!

I know... makes me sad. I have the nether ray mount for my feral druid... and he looks so dumb on it. I need the chicken mount to round out the set.

I'll escort you to the Blood Elf starting area if you have the expansion and when you hit level 6. I have a 70 orc shaman named Energeez, a 39 hunter Naenae, and a 29 druid Bullcephus. Energeez isn't on my main account, so I tend to use him most for dual-boxing and running instances to gear my toons.

Standard bear is 10
Aquatic form is 16
Cat form is 20
Travel form is 30
Dire bear is 40
Free flight form (must buy 150 riding skill first, aka epic land mount) is at 68

Moonkin and Tree Form are from 31 point talents in balance and resto trees.

You will want to only put points in feral while leveling though, all the way until you get mangle. Then, resto has great talents for feral druids. A 0/47/14 spec is the norm for ferals.

Cat form will be your bread and butter for a long time. Rogue that can heal.

This is how you want to spec up to level 21. It will make your cat form a lot more leveling friendly. You really will love the +30% speed while outdoors and the improved prowl.

This is the standard 0/47/14 feral build.
