I have same screen, bought from ebuyer.com, no dead pixels what-so-ever for me.

And iv'e never really understood about the panel thing, also about tuning:

Firstly, install your gpu drivers i persume done already, Secondly install your screen drivers and i persume you use digital so select digital:

Drivers link above.

Also here is optimization utility:

MagicTune, its great and should be on your cd that come with your screen but its always best to use latest one.

Some good tips here.

The calibration made all the difference for me. Very happy with this monitor now.

I could be mistaken but all 226BW's use a TN panel. I have heard there are two or three different manufacturers for them but they are all TN. As for the stuck pixel you can try out the various methods from here but I recommend you leave it alone as you risk making more of them and tbh they rarely work again.

Thanks !
Yes all 226bw (and all 22' displays) are TN panels. The point is that its distributed by some manufacturers. S is best one and A worst. the medicore quality is C.... I was just curious nothing more. Its great not matter what panel.
That pixel can only be seen on dark colors so its not that much (ITS IN MY MIND THOUGH)

ohh and btw. What about cleaning it ? I tried to do that with included duster but it seems to be worth nothing. the screen just seems to be....hmmm smudge but it offcourse can be seen only when turned off.
and the black borders also seems to be scratched when I look at them from special angle....and I only cleaned it with included duster.
Those are not big problems just MIND torching

What panel do you have man there is some good color profiles out there that will make them look a ton better? I have a C and I got the colors right but the back lighting is horrid.

I have an 'S' and the back lighting is still an irritant. Good thing about it, whenever colors are displayed it's not noticeable. Only on boot really.

I used to use an Eizo ICC on my 2405FPW and it was fantastic. I haven't tried on this panel yet as I'm pretty happy with it atm.

You would have to take the monitor backing plate off to get the # off to see what model you have.

The S is the good monitor as far as color accuracy and the back lighting is way better then the C. It is still a good monitor for the money.
