So I went to plug my Seagate hard drive in and the sata connector on the hard drive just fell off. I just plugged it in normally, like I have before a thousand times, and it just snapped off. Do you know of any place that can fix something like that? I called up seagate and they didnt help me at all. What can I do?

I'd like to know that too.
![]() One of my 36GB Raptors is like that, been using it for the last 3 years with the broken piece of plastic stuck in the cable plug (to fit), just hope the cable holds otherwise I really have to look for a fix. ![]() edit: I'm pissed that hdd manufacturers don't apply the same simple protection we see on motherboards (the shell around the plug). |

I really like that Western Digital provides that thick blue-block connector for their retail drives. The SATA power cable still sucks, though. Molex FTW.

I've broken a SATA cable this way, but not a hard drive connection. It was in a P180 case too.
