I really hope so. A $200 BR drive for the X360 would be nice.

I just hope this means a drop in BluRay prices.

I sold my HD-DVD player and switched to Blu Ray a year ago or so.

I'm not so into movies that I ever owned a HD DVD player, but I do own a bluray player in my PS3.

Now all I want is LOTR trilogy, Incredibles, and maybe the Matrix trilogy on bluray. I may also pick up stuff like Jurassic Part and the original Star Wars if they do a good conversion.

This is likely one of the reasons that Blu-Ray won...Sony was right (even when everyone was dissing them due to the high cost of bundling BR with the PS3). They got a big installed base, plus (likely) money they paid to the studios to go BR only...

I own a PS3 as well. I think we will see things like LOTR, Incredibles, etc. soon enough now that HD-DVD is dead...

Bottom line Sony outspent Toshiba. That is all and drive safely.

Yes because Sony funded Blu-Ray development all on their own and the format is theres so why not be the only member of the BDA to spend any money....
