You are making a good call. You have alot of PS3 fans on this site (funny it wasn't quite that way a year ago..fickle people!! ) that will tell you go with the PS3 but speaking as someone who owns both and loves them both...most of my games are on the 360.

At THIS time you can be pretty sure you are getting the best version of the multiplatform titles (big deal for me) and although the argument about 360 games coming to the PC is somewhat valid you really have to look at how poorly most of those ports run and how long you have to wait to play them. Oh and I also find it humorous that the PS3 only guys use that PC port thing to knock 360 when the PS3's 2 top shooters, CoD4 and UT3, are BOTH on the PC!

You'll have almost all the multiplatform games available to you with your 360, lots of nice exclusive titles and you can break up the expenditures on your console by being able to get the games now and buy the Blu-ray add-on later..(since we know it's coming ) if you decide you want that.

Lastly..the whole "it's so loud!!!11!1" is bogus. Yeah you can hear it but personally when my 360 is on I don't really notice it unless I'm listening for it...the rest of the time I'm playing games and I don't notice it at all. Of all the other people I know with 360s I've never heard one of them mention it being "too loud"... they all love the thing to death.

Enjoy your purchase!

My rule of thumb with the "it's so loud" thing is this:

If you go out of your way to buy quite cooling for your PC (cases, heatsinks, fans, etc), then the 360 will be loud for you. IMO.

Will or won't? Wasn't quite sure what ya meant. Lots of cooling fans to me =noise

IMO, if you have the TV on or a game playing then you probably won't notice the 360 fan/DVD drive. I only notice it if it's sitting on the homescreen and the room is totally quiet. Even then I don't think alot of it...my PCs are just as loud if not louder.

Agree. Heavenly Sword looks incredible, as well. The PS3 can simply push more polygons and effects due to the extra processing power. Games feel deeper and more realistic.

I'll clarify what I meant. PS3 games seem to draw an entire world around you instead of just your immediate environment. There just seems to be more going on around you in any given area, and the animations of that environment and characters are more true to life.

I like the exploding head logic! An exploding head is worth 1000 words they say.

Even if the PS3 has more graphical potential, not very many companies are taking advantage of it. Crossplatform games are almost identical on both platforms and that's where the majority of games are headed. You just make more money crossplatform.

When it comes to great games, the 360 just has more right now. Combined with the lower cost, the 360 is a great gaming investment.

Buying a 360 or a PS3 this year is just insane. Something you will regret in the next couple of months. If you have a good enough gaming PC I see no reason to buy a 360 unless your like me and love playing the arcade games.

Why would it be insane exactly?

because of the great releases that are coming out and then the release of HOME. I have both 360 and PS3 systems so don't mistake me for a fanboy...if anything i'm a PC fanboy. The exclusives this year for the PS3 looks a lot better then the 360's.

Understand the PC passion..guess I was just thrown cause you said buying either one would be a bad idea.
