UT3 blows away Gears?! olololololoolol

I agree with Halo 3 vs Resistance. Resistance is much much better.

UT3 definitely blows away Gear of War. Halo 3, the flagship XBox title, is easily blown away graphically by Resistance, a PS3 launch title. Resistance even manages to pull off more players in an online match than Halo 3(granted, there aren't any vehicles in MP matches in Resistance).

Everytime someone claims the 360 is more powerful than PS3, they bring up that rage3d article. I'm really curious as to where all the numbers they get for that article come up. As far as I know, there isn't an actual way to benchmark consoles.
But see here you are quoting your opinion as if it were fact and it's not..it's an opinion colored by your like for PS3.

Gamewise I have to disagree. I don't care for UT3 and found Gears to be more asthetically pleasing (UT being more colorful didn't sway me at all). I have to admit however that I'm tired of UT.

I'd be willing to wager Gears2 outshines UT3 graphically... but it's all about the newest UE3 code as far as I'm concerned.

As to Halo3 and Resistance visually? I prefered Halo3. Now I'm in no way shape or form a Halohead and I thought the whole series was just "ok".

Personally I found Resistance to look like ass on a stick. It had a good story behind it though. (I also need to add that I was really bummed about that "assness" as I was REALLY looking forward to playing it when I got my PS3.)

But there we have my opinion.

I still maintain Gears of War blows goats for counterfeit quarters. I rented it and only played it for a couple of hours.

Personally I think the 2 consoles have turned out quite evenly matched.

All one has to do is look at both without bias and you can easily see which is the stronger hardware. The problem is that so many fall into one camp or the other and only own one of them and defend it passionately.

Well I own both, and from what I see the PS3 is a bit stronger. I just finished up Heavenly Sword, and there were literally 300+ enemies on screen at once, fully detailed, with cannon shots and explosions in the background--all this happening at a consistent framerate. I never saw ANYTHING like that on the 360. The closest thing might be Kameo, but it wasn't quite on the level that this was.

The PS3 can simply throw more stuff on the screen at once. I don't know if it's Cell doing it or the way the GPU is in corroboration with it, but it simply does it. Most PS3 games I have played have much better animations and more detailed surroundings on the screen. In addition to that, the extra storage of blu-ray allows for much more cinemas. Heavenly Sword had a ton of it that interacted with real gameplay so well.

The 360 is still a hell of a system, though. Mass Effect is my all-time favorite game and is a graphical wonder in itself. I still think it would've looked/ran better on the PS3, though.

I agree. Mass Effect on the PS3 would have been great. The PS3 hardware just oozes quality. It's solid, quiet and reliable. My 360, has it's moments. Particularly with Disc read errors and the need to clear the HDD cache every now and again. Also there are the jet engine fans. ::

Other surveys show xbox and ps3 swapped. The loud part of the xbox 360 is the DVD drive, which was replaced in the 2nd generation with a much quieter model.
Edit: Found some more noise stats, which are the complete opposite: http://www.videogamesblogger.com/200...eally-make.htm
