ignore the red arrow..

Yes, I also set that jumper to where I can always reset my bios by hitting the bottom buttons on the motherboard. Say, I want to overclock and it didn't go so hot all I have to do is push the reset bios button or clear cmos button and then I can reset the bios. If that jumper is left on default then life will such for the owner. Hey, there's a guy named captkirk on ebay bidding on one of my items. Nope, not me.
The new board I got has that cmos reset in the back now.

And the LCD poster is now in a small box with a wire so you can have it right in front of you.

Back to your bios.
You can pop that HP hacked one out and put an Asus oem chip in and use the Asus bios versions.
Go here.

OK, either it's a mis-print, stupidity, or that SLi/CF mod crap no longer supports 2 full 16x PCI-E lanes for SLi.

These are the right specs for a Retail SE.
2 x PCI Express x16 slot, support NVIDIA SLI technology
at full x16 x16 speed(blue)

Go here and click on the Specs tab.

HP Specs.
PCI Express x16 (at x16 speed): 1
PCI Express x16 (at x8 speed): 1

There should be three PCI-E x16 slots, two at x16 speed and one at x8. Why is the HP specs listing only two slots?

Because they really are all messed up over there.
Lot's of phone calls, emails and lack of support from people who are not qualified is why I can say without a doubt, they are all kinds of messed up.

The things I found pulling this thing apart to replace the MB, borders on being illegal.

Here's where I'm at, the rest needs to be done with it upright.

Much better but I want a 790i Motherboard and DDR3 memory along with a new Intel Quad Core 45nm CPU down the road. Plus newer cards when the timing is right!

Nice, looks really sharp and clean there. To bad our NVIDIA 8800 Ultras in SLI are directx 10 not directx 10.01 and PCI-Express 1.0 not PCI-Express 2.0 which you're Asus 780i motherboard fully supports. Never the less, their both watercooled but it would of been nice to have SLI video cards with DirectX 10.01 and PCI-Express 2.0 which our Ultras do not offer.

Thanks.
Remember why I did this though.
Didn't want to even though I don't like the 680i chipset, but my MB crashed and burned.

HP refused to back up a faulty Rig and if they screwed up the first time, why bother.

Anyway they have K-Tron helping out now, so it can only get worse.

My point is it, died, Blackbird support doesn't exist and I rebuilt it better and got all those screws and washers out, fixed the usb cable and have a better MB.
It had to be done, will it boot? Dunno.
MB could be a dud, don't know what else could have been damaged.

But I did my best and if it boots I have a good shot from there.

Did you look into the biosman website?

Yes, and thank you for the link. I'm going to wait for the nForce 790i Chipset to come out and go from there.

Umm, so much for the line down the middle.
http://img255.imageshack.us/my.php?i...scf4859qw1.jpg

There was paste all over the hold down clamp, and all down in along the sides of the cpu.

I used the one line deal, maybe this setup needs more, but that's way to much and no need to go past the cpu size.

It's alive!

Sweet bios, best I've seen from Asus, actually this version beats any DFI bios I've seen. And I used DFI boards alot in the past, they are or were known for their bios features.

Booted right up, not a glitch.
It might explode or BSOD in Vista, but didn't get that far yet.

NB runs hot as people said, I'll slap a fan on it first and then may try a water cooling mod if needed.
A very strange idea using stuff I have here, but first I'll check the temp with a manual probe and lcd temp monitor to make sure the bios is reporting the temp correctly.

Yeah the bios has wallpaper.

This small rad and fan lines up with the side panel mod holes.

Pump sits on top of the water block.

Nope, no idea yet to mount it, but it will cool it down.

Heh, nuts huh.

Fan should suffice.

Going to load vista for some testing now and see what happens first.
