EDIT: I'll need to get a 780i board, too. A cool EVGA one.
I don't know if you want to switch boards, I haven't heard too many positives about the evga 780i board yet.

Actually, how is that 750i board working for you? Any stability problems? Do you actually have a power light when you turn it on?

The board is actually rock solid. The only problem with it is that it's picky with voltages when you OC higher. I have good chemistry going on with it right now and it's really stable with my G0 at 3.6GHz. The cooling is excellent, but since my temporary case is crap, the warm air just kinda hovers there. I only have a 120mm pushing air out, but I want to get that CM RC-690.

There are actually 2 power lights located atop the IDE slot, a blue one and a red one. It looks like purple from a distance.

I'm pretty sure if you were able to add another card (it must suck having only one PCI-E ) your performance would make a huge jump.

well I bought this board not caring if I'd ever be able to run SLI on it. I could barely afford the 9600gt and like I said most of the games I play will run great on it. If I ever have enough spare money to blow on two cards then I'm sure I'll have enough to buy a new mobo to but for everything else apart from SLI this mobo is sweet. I'm not really going for a high end rid, just a moderate one for everyday use and some gaming.

FYI. I've just been on CCLonline and noticed they have a 1Gb 9600GT available from MSI.

http://www.cclonline.com/product-inf...600gt-t2d1g-oc

Sorry if it's been mentioned before.

Fail.

I wonder how good it performs.

By that logic a 7900 is faster than a 8800.

Numbering system is purely a marketing ploy, Dont try to rationalize it.

Yea, and if you add the number in the series, 7+9=17 and 8+8=16, so 17 should be faster.

got close to 11K 3dmark06 on my Q6600 with 2GB

this was with the Palit Sonic 9600GT. 700MHz core stock. runs very cool with the huge heatsink, might overclock one day if it becomes necessary

I just got mine as well.

I've been living in the dark ages of PC hardware (haven't upgraded in about 6 years), and just got a modest upgrade with a 9600GT. I purchased this in the morning and they've already shipped it and it should be here tomorrow - worst case scenario, Monday.

The 6800GS AGP I have is old and it's time to retire the guy. I've had some fond memories with it. And yes, that's what I'll be upgrading from.

I can't wait!

you may think it to be a modest upgrade but it is going to be a world of difference.

Stop saying that! I'm already getting all anxious just waiting for the damn thing to get here.

If it doesn't come here tomorrow, heads are gonna roll.

Edit: Noooooo!

Edit again: It says it's in transit, and it's two cities away from me - literally less than 5 miles. I can walk there and pick it up. Stay tuned!
