Yeah, I hate when that happens and then they don't let you pick it up .

Yeah, it's so lame. I guess if you pay for shipping, they'd rather deliver it themsleves instead of saving gas and energy. But tomorrow is nearly here. Gonna have to start prepping the box for it.

Edit: Wooooo~ It's here! UPS just dropped it off. I'm so happy.

if you guys knew anything about UPS you would know it's a pretty hard task to go find a single package once it has been setup for delivery unless you want to have to unload and reload a whole van. it would cost more than the gas and energy to be paying someone to find that single package.

Of course. I was just talking out of impatience.

Well, it's all installed and I've played The Witcher at maximum settings and 1440x900 resolution. All of the places that I have been to that lagged like crazy (swamps), is silky smooth now. All I have to say is that the card is .

It even came bundled with Tomb Raider Anniversary. Bonus!

Yeah baby! Passive cooling. After listening to the turbine engine on my BFG 7800GS AGP that this thing is replacing for a couple years, ahhhhh silence! Of course, I am replacing just about everything else except my sound card and case too. I was still using single core, socket 939, and AGP! Can't wait. I got a stack of games I put in the "can't be played until upgrade" pile. You know, all the ones you guys been yapping about for about the last year? Crisis, Timeshift, The Witcher, Lost Planet, etc.

Sig specs updated. Yeah....that's what I upgraded to, not from. Still seems like a massive upgrade to me from an Athlon 64 4000, and 1 gig of PC3200 RAM.

EDIT: A quick little fraps run, before and after:

1680x1050, Used the High preset, no vsync or mouse smoothing.

Before: FEAR v1.08 | Athlon 64 4000+ | Geforce 7800GS AGP 256 meg
Frames: 2341 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 39.017 - Min: 2 - Max: 144

After: FEAR v1.08 | Athlon 64 X2 5400 | Geforce 9600GT PCIE-2 512 meg
Frames: 6001 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 100.017 - Min: 68 - Max: 178

Woot? Almost triple the frame rate! It may not be "high end" but it whoops the @%#$ out of what I had!

^ lol.

I'm waiting for the 9600GT to drop below 125/$199 in my country, then I'll get one for my spare rig. (running an X1950 Pro on that now).

Which one are you looking at? My friend ordered the PALiT 1GB 9600GT and got it for $159.99 USD (with a MIR) from newegg. My EVGA 9600GT SC's were $179.99 a pop.

Yep, that's the one I got a week ago at newegg. It was $149 USD, and with a $30 MIR. Best buy I have ever made on a videocard. Strange thing is they bumped it up another $10.

Edit: My bad, it was a $30 MIR.

Edit again: I just checked my reciept because it was bothering me. I purchased it on 4/4, but I could have sworn they didn't update the rebate form for it. When I bought it, the rebate was for $30. But when I checked newegg, I found out that I qualified for the new rebate which is $40 (until 4/30). Bonus, again! I'm glad my procrastination got the better of me this time because I haven't sent the rebate form out yet.

Dunno, Gainward and MSI are the cheapest options around here.

Prices are normally higher than in the US, that's why it looks more expensive. I'd order from abroad, but unfortunately it's not so easy, we have some limits on importing stuff. After going through customs, it usually ends up costing as much as if you bought it domestically.

MSI has high clocks in their products and it's cheap.
