Default MSI P7N 750i SLi Platinum

I just ordered this motherboard for my Intel build. Seemed like a steal, so I just went ahead and ordered it.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130159

It's a Nforce 7 chipset, so that makes it future proof and tri-SLi (which I probably won't do) ready. There were no reviews for this product, it seems like it's new because whenever I'd look at the NF7 boards, there was only 1 750i board which was the Asus one. Does anyone own the board I ordered?

That's a big heatsink on the NB. Good price for a tri-SLi board.

It's even bigger on the MSI P35 and P35D3. I saw it in the MAXIMUM PC Oct. 07 issue. Do you know anything about the P7N? I read a review and it's just slightly faster than the Asus P5N

can you even fit a video card in that top slot? It looks awfully close to NB cooler and I highly doubt you could use a memory cooler if you had a card in there.... looks to be more of a traditional 2 card SLI board with a 3rd slot for show.

Edit: and really Zapa.... you could have gotten this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127329 for $199 after rebate, a MUCH better card than that 9600GT IMO

The heatpipe from the NB cooler is low enough to the PCB to allow the card to fit, and there's plenty space between the first slot and the PCB. Here's a bigger image of the motherboard.

Reviews on the 8800GT and 9600GT show that the cards are almost the same. I doubt I would have been able to notice a difference. Besides, me likes teh single slot cooling and finally having something not a lot of people have on the forum .

Let me know when you get this and how it overclocks/performs.I have the Asus P5N-D and it is a gr8 board and overclocks gr8 but im having issues with the onboard LAN constantly losing internet connection. Not sure if it is Vista or if it is the High FSB doing it.I have tried many things to no avail.Seems to be a common problem for the Nvidia onboard lan connections to lose internet connections according to the searches on the net that i find.

I'll be sure to do that. There will be other factors to the overclocking, such as RAM and CPU type. Here's the review I read. The put the MSI P7N up against P5N's and P35's.

Not many Sata ports to contend with there though.

I think the ASUS board will offer better overclocking due to the huge coper heatsink and the ability to add a 60mm fan.

On the P5N-T? It doesn't look like you can add a 60mm on any heatsink on the P5N-T. Besides, I have a nice 80mm fan that will blow over the heatsink on my P7N.
