Got it to launch... but this has to be the buggiest release I have seen in a while... it seems like when I try to join a server with people in it, with a decent ping... instead I get 300 ping with 0 players... game runs like poop for no reason since it doesn't look very good.. definitely wish I could get a refund for this... if they fixed it... it seems like it might be decent... but I don't see it happening.

That's a real shame, because this game has got to be one of my favourires for a long while.

When you say it doesn't run very well, try going into the graphics options and turn 'Foliage' off completely. With it on, I get big pauses in-game every 5-10 seconds. With it turned off, I can run the game without any problems.

Hope you get it sorted out...

That bug was fixed for me (pause/stutter) by using latest Nvidia Beta Drivers.

The 174s? Think I'll give them a go.

Thanks for the heads up!

Well 169.44 are the latest beta drivers for most of us. 174.xx with modded inf isn't a beta for 8xxx users. So which set?

Latest news straight from Kaos Studios:

"THQ and Kaos Studios have contracted with Even Balance, Inc. to integrate their PunkBuster anti-cheat software into Frontlines: Fuel of War. This will be added in an upcoming patch and more details will be released soon."

Looks good.

Having the urge for a bit of FPS I went out and bought the game yesterday afternoon. I really should have read a couple more reviews of the game as I am finding it difficult to enjoy the single player part of the game. I absolutely hate the stereotypical appearance and characters of my gung ho marine type squad. It's very difficult to fight the enemy when you want them to slaughter your annoying team-mates. Is there a config edit to shut them the hell up? I was aware before playing that the gameplay could be orientated towards consoles but I was not prepared on how consoley it is. It's even too consoley for consoles - makes GRAW, Rainbow Six and Airborne seem like military simulations. Heck, you can't even change the fire mode.

I am by no means one of the AA Nazis you get around here, but this must be the jaggiest game I've ever played. I tried turning on AA in RivaTuner and it does not seem to help. I play many other games without AA and I have never been too bothered by its absence.

Anyway I hope I enjoy the multiplayer a bit more.

Anti-aliasing does work if you force it.

Multiplayer is really where this game is aimed, the single is just a big tutorial, i've not finished a single player game in 9 years, multiplayer is all i'm into.
