I just got the game, been playing with it for quite a bit and i must say wow am i surprised. Honestly at first glance this looks like another one of those failed games, but after getting used to the controls and upgrading to some new powers and abilities the game is really beginning to shine.

It feels like playing superman returns and spiderman 2/3. Except in prototype you're not quite a "hero" but rather some weirdo trying to figure out his past and killing anyone in his way. Sure the story is cliche, and the graphics are awful. But the gameplay is so engaging you'll hardly think about it. Overall i can safely say this game is better than most of the free roaming super hero games out there.

Actually the Prototype City is bigger, it just seems small as you can cross it so quickly. I'd also say Prototype looks better simply because it runs so much smoother with AA despite the tech not being as impressive.

But really why compare the games? Not unless someone mods GTAIV to give Niko super human powers.

Dude there isn't anything huger than this game. Except GTA4, ur right about that. But this game is f'n huge. It's great.

and the graphcis are amazing when you transform into this serrated bigblade, tight assed armored bad ass, whose just dripping and oozing and grossing us out with his awseomeness, you really hit the floor and stop caring that your hand gets clipped the draw distance is so bad.

So I have caught up on money and am catching up on older games I never got, and Prototype was one of them... unfortunately I cannot install it.

I get an error saying "error1305, cannot find file: XXXXXXXXX.dll" only the Xs are stuff, of course, on the DVD.

My DVD works fine, just installed a different game before this (Sherlock Holmes Vs. Jack the Ripper).

Anyone else get this? A google search tells me that's a registry error, but only if it points to my HDD, which it does not.

It's binkw32.dll that the install cannot find... I google the problem and all I get are torrent links to download the game. Arg.

That file should be in the root game directory fwiw. If you need the file, just PM me a email link.

Have you tried copying the DVD to a folder on HDD and running the install from there? Maybe try a different drive, some discs just don't like certain drives. Maybe try installing on another PC as well, could be a faulty disc.

Yeah, I did try and copy the whole disc over... it still cannot find that file. I skipped it, then it couldn't find the next one... I am going to assume the whole second layer of the DVD is broken somehow.

Gonna take it to Best Buy and swap it on my way to dinner.
