Guess that the X-FI, but the ASUS Xonar seems like a very good option too.
There're some benchmarks here (X-FI vs Xonar D2): http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid...e=expert&pid=8

I've had zero problems with my Auzentech, but based on some reviews and what I've heard I'd love to give the D2X a listen to compare, but @ $200, just not sure it's worth it in case I have issues with it.
Auzentech has more frequent driver releases then Creative and have seemingly split parts of driver development as they have updated drivers now at least 4-5 times during which Creative has done nothing. They have also met or surpassed "driver feature" release dates thus far. So in that I feel comfy w/my Auzen.

Doesn't suprise me any since Creative hasen't released an official driver for so long.
Sound drivers are like Video drivers, they need updating once in a while unlike Ceative where its once every couple of years.

Complaining about drivers again? That's cool, but I pack way more sausage than you. :
:Creative drivers work fine for me on Vista 64. No need to update IMHO. |

Hey, don't get hard head on me.
You know damn well as well as alot of folks here that Creative is slow at getting drivers out for their Xfi cards. Stop with the third degree on me. I base their theorys on experiences. I buy a good product and expect good services.

Auzentech X-Prelude, X-Fi with DDL and DTS live, the absolute best soundcard out right now.
